MMDS and MWS

Allocation of frequencies for MMDS and MWS

MMDS (Multimedia Multipoint Distribution System) are broadband connections (a few 100 MHz) between the carrier’s central exchanges and the end users’ terminal stations, providing multi-program television, voice, and data services.
 
It is permitted to use radio frequencies specified in the General Act on Radio Frequency Utilisation Plan which are allocated for point-to-multipoint fixed applications, MWS, and MMDS.
 
MWS (Multimedia Wireless System) are broadband connections between the carrier’s central station and the end users’ terminal stations, which are used for the wireless transmission of multimedia content to end users.
 
It is allowed to use radio frequencies specified in the General Act on Radio Frequency Utilisation Plan that are allocated for fixed point-to-multipoint applications, MWS.
 
Frequencies for MMDS and MWS are allocated in accordance with the procedure for allocating radio frequencies for the public network.
