700 MHz+

The Agency has started preparing a new tender for public auction for the allocation of radio frequencies for the provision of mobile services. The auction is expected to offer frequencies of 700 MHz, 1400 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100MHz, 2300 MHz, 3500 MHz and 3700 MHz frequency bands.

Due to the trends that suggest that the growth of mobile Internet increased significantly in Slovenia, resulting in the need for additional frequency spectrum for public mobile services, the agency decided to prepare a new auction. By early assigning all available frequencies to mobile operators the Agency wants to ensure a predictable investment environment.

At the same time it is an important contribution to the use of wireless technologies to cost-effectively meet the requirements of the Digital Agenda, according to which by 2020 all households, including those in rural areas, enabled high-speed internet with transmission speed of at least 30 Mbit / s.

The Agency has launched the procedures for selecting consultants for the conduct of the auction. The next steps will consult with stakeholders and also kept informed.
