Agency for Communications Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia found Telekom Slovenia and Simobil in violation of the principle of net neutrality. Both companies have violated the Electronic Communications Act with their unequal treatment of data traffic offered to their users.
The subject of the supervision procedure was differentiation of data traffic between Telekom’s music streaming ‘Deezer’ service, Simobil’s cloud storage app ‘Hangar mapa’ and other internet data downloaded by the users.
Net neutrality is part of the Slovenian legislation, telecommunications providers are thus not allowed to restrict internet services.
